Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - an Canadian as well as an American musician and singer. She's released over 20 albums. Her songs are classified by the label as alternative and folk. However, they also have influences from hip hop, jazz and punk. Ani DiFranco was the very first musician to start her own label in 1990. Ani is widely considered as a feminist icons. DiFranco was born on September 23, 1970 in the city of Buffalo in New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who met Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was of Italian roots and her mother was Montreal-born. The song is featured on the film soundtrack for 1999's Canadian love story Better Than Chocolate.
